Kukui Jefford is a Hawaiian practitioner of Lomilomi. She comes from a traditional background that involves a strong commitment of many years of intensive training with Master teachers. She has over 30 years of experience as a professional massage therapist in the Hawaiian community, and has been one of the featured therapists at "Na Ho'ola" in Honolulu for 20 years. Kukui shares aloha through her teaching to reach both those familiar with the traditional lomi approach to healing and those who are discovering it for the first time.
This exceptional workshop offers students immersion in the Hawaiian approach to absorbing knowledge. The basics of a particular Lomi style will be taught. She has already taught 7 workshops in France and Germany. early bird 500 € (until the 08.22.21) and normal price 600 € LEVEL 1 (of 3) Objectives of the workshop: * discussions on the history and social context of Lomilomi. * details of the contraindications. * learning basic anchoring and protection techniques (ho'okumu papa hana) as prerequisites for massage. * introduction to the basic movements of Lomilomi ('ai). * learning the Hawaiian terminology of anatomy (mahale kino). * learning the basis of a complete massage. The focus will be on the lower body (nā lālā o lalo) in this level 1 of 3. Prerequisites: participants must keep an open mind. The lomilomi explored through these courses is not attached to any religion or contingency. It is based on Hawaiian principles of healthy living and requires spiritual awareness and openness to cultural practice To obtain the final certificate, participants must attend all courses, read all texts, write homework in journal form, show an application to follow and practice all instruction given during the course, as well as pass written tests. |
