PROGRAM
Following the huge success of the 1st edition of 'The Festival of Hawaiian Arts' celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the 'France-Hawai'i Association' and 'Halau Hula O Manoa', we are pleased to announce the 2nd edition of 'The Festival of Hawaiian Arts'.
The purpose of 'The Festival of Hawaiian Arts' is the discovery and sharing of ancient Hawaiian culture with a European audience.
This year's festival will present both artistic demonstrations and workshops, including: Hula, music, story-telling, gastronomy, wellness, sport (stand-up paddling), as well as introductory workshops to these hawaian arts.
The festival will take place in exceptional Parisian cultural locations in collaboration with the Quai Branly Museum during its 'Tiki-pop' exhibit, and with shows at the 'Maison des Cultures du Monde', on the 'Petit Bain' barge, and at the Pajol Youth Hostel. The Festival is sponsored by The American Embassy Cultural services and by The City Hall of the XVIIIe District of Paris.
The festival has aligned itself with the association 'Plante & Planète' and the following festivals: 'Squares en Fête', 'Paris Quartier d'Été', 'Festival Paris Ukulélé' and 'Graines de Guitare'.
While waiting for this summer's festival, we invite you to attend our festival launch on May 30th at the Pajol Hall at 19:00, music and hula dance with Halau Hula O Manoa and Christopher Kawika Brown, with cocktails and a Hawaiian menu, entrance is free. Please spread the word...
